Tactical Communication Packages
The PacStar 4000-series products are based upon Cisco routers that are part of a converged voice and data solution that connects via LAN or satellite and uses Voice over IP (VoIP) or analog phones. The 4000-series products provide full PBX (Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express) and network functionality.
PacStar 4500 Commander Kit (CK) with ESR
The PacStar 4500 Commander Kit is a lightweight, compact, and secure communications package that provides voice, data and video communications for combatant commanders and other high-profile users. The PacStar 4500 provides either a tunneled or “cipher text core” architecture with access to classified and unclassified DoD networks, such as SIPRNet, JWICS, and NIPRNet.
The black enclave contains a Cisco ASA 5505 firewall with FIPS 140-2 VPN and routing capabilities. The red enclave contains a small form factor, high performance Cisco 5915 ESR router with enterprise-class routing features. The red enclave can be separated from the core to meet stringent security requirements.
The system is compatible with any inline HAIPE-certified devices providing encryption, which may be provided as GFE.
The system is based on open standards and contains proven, reliable, Cisco hardware.
The system supports worldwide AC power input and has a DOT-certified, lithium-ion, laptop-style battery for up to 2 hours of runtime.
The PacStar 4500 was designed to be discreet, with a form factor that draws minimal attention. It weighs 10 lbs and fits in a standard laptop bag or backpack. The system sets up in minutes and is easy to use.
The PacStar 4500 accepts any IP-over-Ethernet input for backhaul, including BGAN, VSAT, 3G wireless network, wired LAN, or Wi-Fi.
PacStar 4100 Initial Entry Package

The PacStar 4100 is a JITC-certified, portable communications package that supports tactical personnel during an operation’s initial entry period. The PacStar 4100 provides critical voice and data connectivity prior to the installation of more permanent communications capabilities. Built with Cisco technology and PacStar’s IQ-Core Software, the system provides satellite connectivity to the Internet and the DISN (Defense Information Systems Network).
Each system consists of two cases that meet airline carry-on rules and are also tested to MIL-STD-810F vibration, shock, and environmental standards.
The system’s two enclave routers also enable concurrent access to NIPRNet and SIPRNet, or non-concurrent access to NIPRNet or SIPRNet.
The system uses LAN, satellite, VoIP, and analog phone technologies, all ntegrated into an easy-to-use package. The core router has eight data/ VoIP ports and four analog phone ports, with more data/VoIP ports on the two enclave routers. Each unit has a BGAN satellite modem for remote broadband access.
The PacStar 4100 is powered by PacStar’s IQ-Core Software. This network management software uses wizards and management pages to manage the telephony, network, and bandwidth options for the system.
IQ-Core Software is integrated into the PacStar 4100 and is designed to enable non-technical personnel to learn the system quickly, thus reducing manpower and training requirements.
IQ-Core Software simplifies system setup and management, protects the system from misconfiguration by preventing many operator errors, and reduces training and support requirements.
PacStar 4200 Baseband Access-Tactical (BA-T)
The PacStar 4200 provides critical voice, data and video connectivity prior to the installation of sustaining communications capabilities. It is designed to serve the tactical communication needs of small to medium size teams who deploy worldwide and have secure communication requirements in austere environments.

Built with Cisco’s high-performance G2 routing technology and PacStar’s IQ-Core® Software, the system can provide baseband connectivity through a variety of backhaul options including VSAT, 3G/4G, BGAN and hotel networks.
Complemented with a variety of network enclaves and accessories that can be customized to user requirements, the base system can provide simultaneous access for up to 4 networks including SIPRNet, NIPRNet CENTRIXS and JWICS.
The system includes a PacStar-designed custom power solution providing world-wide AC and DC input, and battery backup for the core and accessories – maximizing reliability and simplifying setup and cabling.
The PacStar 4200 is managed by PacStar’s IQ-Core Software which simplifies system setup, network management and protects the system from mis-configuration by operators in the field.
PacStar 4050 Tactical Communications Package

The PacStar 4050 is a portable communications package for small teams that need mobile voice and data connectivity anywhere in the world. Made with Cisco technology and PacStar’s IQ-Core Software, the system provides satellite connectivity to the Internet for teams on the move.
Each system consists of two cases that meet airline carry-on rules, and which are tested to MIL-STD-810F vibration, shock, and environmental standards.
The PacStar 4050 is based on the JITC-certified PacStar 4100, which can be used to access the DISN (Defense Information Systems Network), SIPRNet, and NIPRNet.
The system uses LAN, satellite, VoIP, and analog phone technologies, all integrated into an easy-to-use package. The system has eight data/VoIP ports and four analog phone ports, with support for more phone users available with the purchase of an enclave router.
