The PacStar 6300 is a full-featured, IP-based, tandem switch, and PBX for US military field deployments. It features an advanced, Cisco-based UC platform in an integrated package that includes Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). The system is JITC-certified and meets the DVX requirements of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for voice and communications services. The system can connect to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and to the Defense Switched Network (DSN), and supports subtending switches.

The system enables a smooth migration from legacy TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) to EoIP (Everything over IP). With seamless IQ-Core Software integration with the REDCOM® SLICE®, the PacStar 6300 provides extensive interoperability for all JITC required TDM, analog and BRI interfaces, and provides DVX-required conferencing features.
With the PacStar 6300, troops can train on Cisco-based UC systems at home and then experience the same features in the field. The system is designed to integrate smoothly with existing platforms, and deliver advanced features to deployed troops in difficult and temporary locations.
Management of current UC systems is complex and confusing due to multiple user interfaces, extensive training requirements, and long setup times.
The PacStar 6300 is managed through PacStar's system management software, IQ-Core Software, which simplifies system setup and management, protects the system from misconfiguration by preventing many operator errors, and reduces training and support requirements.
IQ-Core Software extends functionality and reduces operating conflicts, which reduces the need for IT personnel to maintain and operate communications equipment.
